I agree that with the previous comments about the rich, low diversity schools etc. At the risk of sounding like a troglodyte, I would make the following points:
1) Ignorance about SD is pretty uniform across all SES’s. Improving it anywhere is better than a poke in the eye.
2) If the high SES’s want to pay, and we use the money in a positive way, how would that be a bad thing?
3) I do not know that individual lesson plans would be particularly useful. Unit plans about pop dynamics, or economics etc might be very useful and worth doing. But in all cases they would have to be documented as meeting standards of one sort or another.
4) I imagine that point #3 would require some effort.
5) When I retire, I will volunteer to lead this effort.
