Others have said this before, and it bears repeating - studying the early DYNAMO models is invaluable to gaining insight into good modeling practice and solid conceptualization skills. Before ever taking any SD courses (at WPI) I studied the Urban Dynamics model to death, and I think I am the better for it in terms of understanding the core principles of SD. Having the DYNAMO compiler makes that study and analysis even better. (Soap box retired.)
