Hi, I agree that critical thinking can be applied to the learning of facts, but if the learning of facts is an action (facts per unit of time), it is a flow. This flow increases the stock 'facts learned'. Of course there is also an outflow called forgetting, but that is not really relevant here. 'Critical thinking' might be a flow or 'thinking capacity' might be a stock that influences the learning of facts. Either way, I see it as an influence connection, but not a flow. Here is another way to think of it: critical thinking skills do not 'turn into' facts learned, but critical thinking might affect how you learn facts. Rob Quaden
