Hello Kirk,
Great idea to get kids out into the open to support learning!
You may have seen the book “The Shape of Change”, and looking through it, there are a number of systems-based games that could be played and configured outdoors.
For example, the “In and out game” could be facilitated by simply marking colourful areas out in the yard, and getting people to observe how stocks accumulate and decline over time.
Also, “The Systems Thinking Playbook” is a excellent source of games, some of which I’m sure could be modified for outdoor use.
See http://www.clexchange.org/lom/cle_books.htm for a list of possible resources.
Regards, Jim.
