Too many ecology/environmental theme films scare and disempower the viewers no matter what age they are.
I strongly recommend the film "A Sense of Wonder". It is available from http://www.bullfrogfilms.com/catalog/sense.html It is a documentary-style dramatization of Rachel Carson told from her point of view. It is suitable for your age group and intended use. It is balanced, realistic, and inspiring. It conveys the message that personal decisions can make a global and multi-generational difference. The disk includes many special features such as interviews showing the enormous and practical impact on *our* daily lives Carson's choices and writing had on her, her family, and from the perspectives of such key ecology and environmental leaders as Stewart Udall (US Secretary of the Interior) to Dr.David Suzuki.
The theme is centered on ecology/environment, but most importantly it is about a somewhat reluctant, and ultimately fragile, individual's journey in making a significant difference in natural and social systems..
The film is 55 minutes and special features are 28 minutes.
Best regards,
