I would suggest that the first thing to do is not to wait. This site has been down and I'm reconstructing it because this book was supposed to be revised by now but it will be a bit longer before I even get to it so I'm putting the book site back up. The point is not the book but this accompanying list of things people can do without anyone else agreeing to anything. The piece, "Applying Sociocracy as an Individual" is posted here:

It's been quite popular since most of the people studying this method do not function in a sociocratic organization so they were feeling stymied. But by reviewing this from time to time, they can renew their resolve and notice that they and people around them are changing the way they make decisions. My residential community uses consensus decision-making but not the underlying dynamic system structure that enables and supports strong leadership in all parts of an organization.
