Jack,
Up here in denialist Canada our federal Senate has just defeated a House of Commons bill on climate change objectives, "Senate kills climate change bill" http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2010/11/17/senate-climate-bill.html#socialcomments
Canada is a regular recipient of the "dinosaur award" at IPCC COP meetings, and gained a ell deserved reputation for obstruction at the Copenhagen COP last year. Looks like we'll clean up in Cancun next month!
However, if you see the comments from the great unwashed they are the usual "internet mix" of believers and denialists. The momentum is clearly with those who have chosen to adopt an anti-science, anti-"ivory tower" approach.
Change resistance truly is the crux, and we are ah so screwed!
Cheers,
Bill
