The forgotten one...
Posted by Bob Gorman on 12/25/2010
Friends, In my opinion, the goal of every class or tutoring session is that the student/learner learn something. If, for whatever reason, that doesn't happen the learner goes forward into life less prepared for their Individual lives.
Teachers may be upset, parents outraged, principals lose funding, school boards and even politician disappointed, system analysts frustrated, but it is the student/learner and only the learner who suffers the most profound damage, damage which could potentially last a lifetime. And that learner is always an Individual!
So while we debate whether the problem is with the teachers, parents, administrators, etc. it doesn't matter; when learning doesn't occur, which it hasn't over the last few decades, it is the students, not the rest of us, that suffer, perhaps for a lifetime.
