Jay Forrester made some very interesting questions to ponder. Why are they bored? Why are the students not excited about learning? Why do they see education as not relevant to their future? A few days ago made a presentation to introduce the balanced scorecard in a public organization. After the explanations of how it worked, one of the officers asked if this tool would be a strict control on the progress of the work of each member. Said yes, but the ultimate goal of the tool rather than the control, was to align and organize the tasks and make everyone see how it contributed to the work of each department and this in turn as contributing to the vision and mission of the organization.
The regular participation indicators are similar to an incentive's 100 meters, where the relative position of the riders, encourage competitors to provide their maximum effort. Quantify the effect of individual effort will contribute to better organizational performance and generate and promote authentic leadership.
Similarly, questions such as Jay Forrester, in the case of education we think is necessary to make students partners in success. In addition, for students from getting bored, it is necessary to make them partners in solving some problems of society, which also help to share responsibility and seek active participation in solving certain problems.
If students analyze real problems, which can apply the knowledge learned, then feel the usefulness of education.
Therefore, if properly defined the vision and mission, and additionally is tracked each student and also manages to engage students in solving certain problems of their community, students will have a little more entertaining and additional partners in the possible solutions. Luis Alfaro Garfias
