This all makes perfect sense and seems so obvious. The main problem I see (and this is no small problem) is the directioin education seems to be heading. With movements toward more accountability and assessment based on state standards and tests, teachers may be encouraged to think less out of the box. So many young ( and skilled) teacher I know fell pressured to "cover" material. It is hard in this environment to get people to see the benefits of systems. Or, even if they see the benefits, they have a hard time "fitting" systems in to a test-driven climate.
