This web site shows a recent launch of The Chalkboard Project funded by five foundations in Oregon. http://www.chalkboardproject.org



Although focused on symptoms and dialogue now, they seem committed to constructing a way of dealing with public education issues. Controversy helped give them a higher profile when they ran ads about education showing negative opinions. (A reality show about education…hmmm, maybe a TV show there.)



So, here is a project with funding, executive sponsors, a board, staff, and trying to figure out how to focus their efforts. Maybe an example of a way to inject systems concepts into the debate. I’m corresponding on email to find out how to get involved.



Maybe if all of us used an “act local think systems” approach to injecting systems into K12 public education then we can all take action in a way that fits our own style.
