I have worked quite a lot with many of the sims at my computer camps (simlife, simearth, simcity2000). However my dissertation involved Rocky's Boots simulation and working with middle school students and the thinking skills and other processing.
I have the dissertation on pdf if that person is interested.
I would be interested in knowing about that simulations study if it is found.

Below is information from a google search that might help. It is too bad that so many students do not use the sims anymore except for the reality sims program (which I don't like and don't use) and prefer the violence oriented sims like grand theft auto and games of violence.
