Exploring systems games and learning for children
Posted by Deborah Grace on 2/25/2006
Dear List members,
I am new to this list and am curious if anyone has any resources or advice for me on the following topic:
I joined the list because, although I am not a teacher, I will have the opportunity to explore our local watershed and wildlife with 3rd grade students. Because I am particularly interested in highlighting systems-oriented ideas with youth and am looking to make this the subject of my Master’s program at Sonoma State University, I am eager to hear from other educators about their experiences and favorite resources.
The current list of resources I have gathered (but have not yet explored in full) include the materials on the CLEX website, including the “Shape of Change” book, the “Systems Thinking Playbook” (Booth Sweeney & Meadows), “When a Butterfly Sneezes” (Booth Sweeney) plus a couple of ecoliteracy-related books.
Since I’m just new on the listserve and have not seen any activity in the last week, I don’t know who’s out there, but If anyone has favorite activities, or even if you have found what does NOT work, I’d love to hear from you. Thanks!!
