Subject: System Objective

Hi all

Should a system have one and only one objective? On the surface, it would appear so. For example for a car, the objective is to move a person or a
number of person from one location to another. But the quality of the
movement is also important. Would this then make it more than one
objective for the system?

On a related issue, what are the tell tale signs that an organisation is pursuing more than one key objective or is unclear about its objective from
a system point of view? Would appreciate your comments.
