A good start would be to explicitly state the "lessons of SD" that we'd like to get across, for which there are many sources.

I have started discussing something like this with an economics teacher at a local high school here in the Seattle area as a possibility for the spring semester for a class of mostly seniors, and a few juniors. But the objective is not to teach "lessons of SD" but rather to help the students begin to understand the issues around startup of a business' financial life as compared to issues involved in the startup of an individual's financial life (which latter the students have been studying this fall semester in the context of the economics teacher's son's financial life - he just got his first job after finishing college). Since the high school has an aviation theme, we've been talking about using games and simulations based on the models of easyJet and People's Express from John Morecroft's book "Strategic Modelling and Business Dynamics." Any "lessons of SD" that we learn will be ancillary to this purpose of understanding major aspects of startup of an airline. At this point I don't think the economics teacher is certain he wants to take this path for his course, but he is considering it.
