I suppose any time I've used SD in teaching, it's been to incorporate it into preexisting curriculum. That may be because my usual habit of mind, and approach to teaching, involves something close to SD thinking anyway. In any case, it did not result in a wholesale revision of my curriculum, just an additional activity or two that turned out to shift the dynamics of the discussion. I've utilized SD modelling in a few specific areas. Most successfully in looking at immunity and epidemics, where we started with a simple STELLA model and then added features to approximate public health interventions. It was exciting to me as teacher to see how this ramped up student motivation to learn whatever we could about everything from immune response, to vaccines, to state and CDC responses to H1N1, and so on.
