Looking for a systems makeover

Do any of you have examples from the middle grades, say, from about 6th through 10th?
I ask this because middle and young high school students remain in the concrete stage of development, and the symbols and tools of SD can be a help, a way to make clear those ideas that easily skim by. The Behavior Over Time Graph is a quick tool that helps students focus on change over time: a character’s change, or the shifts in relationships such as in Romeo and Juliet.
Would love to hear of examples that, as a consequence of using them once or twice, the tool or method is now your standard approach for a particular lesson or unit.
Keep this great conversation going!
