I found something very, and strangely, comforting in these lines - thank you, Jay. Sometimes I get very frustrated with this feeling that no-one who can change anything really understands the underlying issues, and I find it such a relief to hear someone affirm this feeling. I guess the challenge for us is to convince the general public that there actually is a real link between industrial increase and war in far-off countries.
After spending this morning on the street at the AI stand trying to get people to take an interest in the plight of political prisoners under torture, I'm at a loss how to do that, though. It seems interest is not easily extended to those who are out of sight.
