Niall, the thought that occurs to me on reading your post is that we might use a news or childrens' story to engage learners in developing one or more BOTGs and associated system diagram or simulation. But once they have completed their system diagram or simulation and connected it well to the story BOTG(s), we might ask what other stories (other BOTGs) might their system diagram or simulation produce. Their system description might be adequate to tell additional
story(ies) but likely it will not be, in which case it would need to be modified such that it can tell several stories.

Does this sound right?
