You've played a tricky issue, very few know that values are or what are the real values that we recorded ourselves and how these were acquired and whether they exist where it is that we have recorded. Usually when someone is asked for his list of values, these are fabricated and usually never equal the real list is recorded in our limbicbrain.
So even though we now know of the great importance of this as pointed out by Peter Senger in the first dimension, the so-called personal mastery, there is little point that an individual will measure their strengths, talents, emotional and social intelligence, style learning and other things that we can now know with good accuracy at the individual level, on the contrary do not know their real values are those that control it or make it travel on a true path.
I spent years researching this subject, believe that you can spend all the money you want in the selection of a new employee, hire all the gurus that exist in the world, if not check your scale of values, care, gonna throw money away, I discovered a method based on NLP that invented the Israeli military to help soldiers and military know their true values and two hours of intense self-reflection and analysis of personal introspection, you can get this list as a triumph.
Then comes the hard work to be carried out to review the list of values, might have to change the priority of how these have been recorded in the unconscious, or have to take any of them from the list or get any missing or as in most cases, this list also contains anti-values that must be removed from the list, but it operates capriciously and contrary to expectations and the person even with all their potential talents, does not know why you can not take advantage fully.
In Mexico we say, look at that boy brings the parking brake self-imposed.
You are quite right to comment on how our society uses masks to handle their values, or as these are sown in our young people realize, for the convenience of a few.
We have tried to invent a new test to help us identify the actual values stored in the limbic brain of people, yet we have not succeeded, really do not know if this can be possible, many psychologists with whom I have discussed this I say you can not do this because everyone gives their own meaning to the words that name the values according to their internal filters that make them see realities different from everyone else.
If you know something about it, I would appreciate feedback for me, anyway if any of you are interested in what we have discovered, later we will share what we have.
