I have always loved this emphasis of endogeneity in SD, indeed it marked the point where the subject first made real sense to me. I see the central "Leitfaden" of SD as being:
1. There are no problems - merely dynamical consequences. 2. Consequences usually have not just one, but many equally valid, causes. 3. (Endogeneity) Look first within myself for the causes of unpleasant consequences in my life, because at least I have some element of control over those causes. 4. (System boundary) If I should happen to find there are some causes which lie outside myself, take that as an opportunity to expand my understanding of myself so that I can also influence those, at first sight exogenous, causes.
Best wishes, Niall.
