Thank you all so much. I am beginning to understand why using the terms endogenous and exogenous are useful ways to organize thinking and modeling and eventually to “reach better behavior of the system” we are working with—as Jay mentioned. I have read all the papers—studied all your responses—and so appreciate your willingness to stick with me on this. I need to understand it. I used to get it intuitively—then when I needed to be able to explain it, I got muddled. Now I have language, examples and quotes I can use effectively.
