What comes immediately to my mind is the body of work that was stimulated by the experiments of Linda Booth Sweeney and John Sterman (System Dynamics Review. 2000. 16(4):249-286.). That paper triggered a number of other studies, many of which were reported at subsequent annual conferences of the System Dynamics Society.
